The Movie Studios and TV Networks are hopping mad over this one - The U.S. Supreme Court has decided not to hear a case involving a suit against Cablevision’s new remote-DVR system that allows its subscribers to store recorded Cable TV programs and movies on a centralized server for latter viewing. The advantage of this system is that the subscriber has all the advantages of owning a DVR, without actually having to own or rent their own DVR box. The Copyright Alliance had claimed that such a system violates existing copyright law. For the full story, check out the report posted by NAB365.
